Bread Salt Levels

This post is older than 6 months

The Revel Baker’s bread contains less salt.

The levels of salt especially in bread have been very much in the news recently. Eating too much salt in your diet can lead to increased blood pressure and increased chances of heart disease. It is recommended by the Food Standards Agency that bread should contain less than 1.1g of salt per 100g of bread which is about two thick slices.

We have checked with the Revel Baker and all of his breads have always contained less than 1g of salt per 100g. For example the popular Revel loaf contains 0.8g of salt per 100g.

Any bread product that is considered to contain a higher percentage of salt will be clearly marked.
