Picking Tips
Containers – are provided but not free of charge. The container weight is included when the fruit is weighed at the till.
If you do not wish to pay for our container please bring your own container but make sure that the container has been pre-weighed and marked with a weight in grams (our scales are metric) so that the container can be deducted from the final charge.
We provide 2 sorts of container:
A clear recyclable plastic punnet that will hold approximately 1kg of fruit. The container will cost approximately 6p.
A green handled basket that will hold approximately 2.5kg of fruit. The container will cost approximately 60p.
Quantities – Have a rough idea of the quantity of fruit you want to buy. Select the appropriate containers and supervise children to prevent over picking. We do expect you to pay for fruit that you have picked.
Footwear – Wear sensible shoes the ground in the field is uneven. If we have had a lot of rain please bring waterproof footwear.
