Our Potatoes 2024

This post is older than 6 months
 19th August 2024
Our farm team have been busy! As well as harvesting our wheat, spring barley and linseed, they’ve also been occupied with digging our homegrown potatoes. First up is Marfona an all round white variety, which will  be in the farm shop for the bank holiday weekend. This versatile variety is so popular with it’s waxy outer and floury middle, perfect for flavoursome jackets, mash, roasties and chips.
Pictured: golden hour over our potato fields is a variety called Caledonian Rose. These vibrant red skins won’t be appearing in the Farm Shop until sometime around October, we expect to harvest them mid-late September. Also a great all-rounder variety, suitable for roasting, mashing, boiling, baking and chipping.
