St Patrick’s day is the 17th March. To celebrate the occasion the butcher’s counter have produced a sausage.  St Patrick’s sausage is made with pork from our own Gloucester Old Spot pigs reared on our family farm.   The pork is then mixed with a delicate blend of herbs and Guinness. The result is a delicious sausage with the distinctive malty flavour of Guinness.

On our deli counter the special is Cahill Porter, a creamy cheddar style cheese with Irish Porter. Again a lovely malted flavour is imparted to the cheese. Other Irish cheeses available at the deli include Cooleeney  and Cashel Blue, the former bearing more than a passing resemblance to Camembert and the latter a delightful soft blue cheese.

If you like black pudding then we also stock Clonakilty Black Pudding and it’s white pudding counterpart, Clonakilty is reportedly Ireland’s favourite pudding.

The photo of the shop was taken the other day. Whilst you won’t find a pot of gold or a leprechaun at the end of the rainbow, there’s certainly plenty to smile about.
